KNECT Core Access
Wireless access controller, KCA-100
Access control for a site with no panel in it. Each controller runs one or two doors, holds the credentials, and makes the access decision itself. A small site gets a working system with no head end and no home-run wiring.
This isn't a wireless bridge. It replaces the panel.
A KNECT bridge sends your panel's signal to a door the wire can't reach. Core Access is the access control system itself. If there's a panel on site and you're keeping it, you want the bridge line.

Built for sites of two to fifteen doors
Aether designed KNECT Core Access for small and mid-sized sites. That describes who it's for, not where the radio stops. The controllers reach as far as a KNECT Endpoint does.

One controller at each entrance, and one of them leads
Put a controller at each entrance and name one of them the System Leader in the KNECT Tech app. Add the others as Followers, and they link to it by radio and configure themselves.
- Any controller on site can be the System Leader.
- The Leader takes an Ethernet connection and brings the cloud to the whole site.
- Followers get their data from the Leader over the radio, with no Ethernet of their own.
- One Leader runs up to 32 Followers, and a site can have more than one Leader.
- The app talks to each controller over Bluetooth, at the door.
- If a controller restarts during setup, setup picks up where it left off.

How many controllers you need
Count the readers, not the doors. A controller has two relays, and each reader takes one.
One controller runs two doors with a reader each, or one door with an in and an out reader.
A door with a reader on both sides uses a whole controller. Wiring one door with a single reader leaves the second relay free for other door hardware.

What it works with
The readers you already specify. Core Access goes in as the access control system, so there's no panel to match it to.

Credentials, access rules and schedules
The same portal and app that run the rest of the KNECT line run Core Access. You handle the install and the programming. The site handles its people and its schedules.

- Claim and program every controller.
- Read temperature, power and signal strength remotely.
- Schedule reports on faults and outages.
- Push firmware over the air.
The site, in the Aether RF IoT portal
- Import people records and assign credentials.
- Set access rules for each door, and group doors across the site.
- Create access roles for groups of users.
- Set access schedules and holiday schedules.
Programming stays in the app, on your side. The site's portal login covers credentials and logs, so handing over the building doesn't hand over the install.
When to use KNECT Core Access
Use Core Access when
- The site has no access control, or the system in it is being replaced.
- It's two to fifteen doors, like an office, a medical office, a shop or a warehouse.
- A panel-based quote is bigger than the job.
- You want credentials, roles and schedules without a head end in a closet.
Use something else when
- There's an access panel staying, and you need to reach a door or gate the wire won't. That's the bridge line: a KNECT Endpoint pair, or a One to Many Kit for several doors.
- The job needs extra credential types, cameras or other surveillance integration. Aether didn't build Core Access for that, so it takes a full panel, with the bridge line to reach the far doors.
- It's one Wiegand reader out of reach of a panel that stays. A Wiegand Wave 150 covers it.
